Re: thessaloniki
A very well-made photographic trip, the only thing I have to point out is that it would worth the effort to take some photos from our ancient monuments. They are impressive and I think that it is good enough to sow the ancient proofs (after all this is a city of over 2500 years history).
I get sometimes to think what masterpieces people made 2500 years ago.
Sorry about my "obsessions" , if anyone is planning to visit Thessaloniki I sagest one of his/her visits must be in a museum of the city (let's say the Byzantine one).
Thank`s George,

Re: thessaloniki
Thanks for posting George.
Living in a country that is relatively young, we have very few historical buildings that are more than a few hundred years old, so getting to some of the older cities around the world that have been around for over 1000 years is always something I find to be of great interest, especially how the modern and ancient areas blend seamlessly.
You've given us a nice glimpse into this well known city.

Re: thessaloniki
I don`t recognize the church's name, besides I don`t know all of them, but if I recall write, the photo must be from a wide place we call the castle (from the castl`s walls that where build in the Bizantine times, if I`m write) in those times, as it was common, they where sarawnding the cities with big walls as you know. Remains of sach a time are still existing and they are in a higher, in terms of altitude, region of my city, obviously nowadays the city extends on both sides of that remains.
Thank you for reminding me my college years.

Re: thessaloniki
I think its great and shows the true power of CiC, when visitors and residents can come together here and discuss the merits and locations of a City.
Clearly George would have benefitted even more from Alexander's local knowledge if he had been aware beforehand. But I might have put the camera down and fallen asleep on the sun-bed.
Thats how good the picture is…enticing the viewer to actually be there.
