    Mildly amusing Juxataposition

We went to Jasper National park this last weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary (40 years)

We drove up to Maligne Lake, mainly because the only other time we went it was cloudy and raining so we never got to see the mountains ringing the lake.

My wife is used to my idiocies, so it was not strange to her that I would lie in a puddle of melt water on the lake because I was amused by this rock echoing the peak. However I got some very strange looks from other people.

This was a low as i could get, not perfect but the best I could do.

Congrats to you and your bride on the anniversary.

It's quite humble to say that it's just a position particularly when it involved lying in ice water. Or was that the amusing part? Anyway, there's much more to this fine image

    Nicely seen and captured.

Probably more amusing to the bystanders than to my wife. Especially since there were signs all over warning to stay off the lake due to thin ice. In my defense: I could tell this was grounded not floating ice (tilted ice surface sloping toward the lake proper) so I was in no danger despite being 30 metres off the shore line.

Could not resist the shot; getting a bit wet was no problem as the air temperature was 22C and I was dressed in polyester and nylon so I dried quickly.

Congratulations Trevor for 40 years! Where does the time go?

I like the story about this photo and the photo itself. Using my imagination, it looks like the snout of a whale poking out. Or it could even be an old snapping turtle head! <chuckle> Irregardless, the photo sets up nicely with the blue sky, mountain range, frozen (sort of) lake and your rock! Definitely worth the effort. And a memory created during your anniversary celebration!

I am afraid my wife has many such memories of me doing equally dumb (or worse) things. I set the bar really low when we first met, so anything is an improvement.

Dolphins are a bit rare in Maligne Lake. However I can see why someone from more clement climes could see this.

Beautiful viewpoint I think that the rock looks like a White Pointer. We get them in Australia. Oh! I once was upside down in a tree claiming to my wife that I was a Fruitbat ----I understand you perfectly.
