Beautiful flowers. Are yours located in a wooded area? We visited a favorite patch of them last week in our local woods and like yours, they are a delight to see. Excellent picture of them, IMO!

    Thank you Sandy.
Our trilliums grow mostly at the base of trees in deciduous forests. They seem to thrive more in forest of maple trees. A few years ago, I rescued several of them from a forest near where my brother lived where they were about to be destroyed by a builder developing a new subdivision. As a result, I now have a patch in my backyard under a maple tree. This is where the ones in the photo came from.

Hi André - I like the idea of planting some under maple trees. I have a tiny grove of maples mix in with some ornamental type trees. So perhaps a perfect spot! And my friend would be happy to share a few plants! Thanks for the idea! And thanks for sharing your lovely picture too!

Beautiful bloom, Andre. Awesome techs and I love the pure shadowed BG. I'm not a flower photography expert but as a viewer I find that the second OOF bloom draws my attention. Particularly since it looks like it's pointing to the top of the frame.

You're welcomed Sandy and thank you.

    Dan,
My original plan was to crop the main bloom into a square frame so I ignored the secondary flower because it was far enough to the right for easy removal. I don't have a rational explanation as to why this composition appeals to me a lot more than the square crop but it does. Perhaps it provides an added sense of depth to the scene or perhaps the twin white patches connected by the green path create strong graphic element along the diagonal. I just don't know. Oddly enough, the little paler green leaf in the lower left corner bothers me more and I might clone it out. Thank for commenting.

Thank you Nandakumar, glad you like it.
