Cherokee Roses
They only grow in around cypress stumps in cypress wetland areas and only bloom for about a month each year...in all the green of the wetlands, these little beauties are a welcome change of scenery.

The Georgia state flower. I've only seen them white. You found a nice spot to capture one what with the bit of moss in there too. Nicely done.
Up here we have prickly rose. The blooms look almost the same. The thorns of the prickly rose are like tiny splinters and often act the same, breaking off in one's skin and causing a good bit of irritation. Some are so tiny my old eyes have a hard time locating them to get a pair of tweezers on them.

Re: Cherokee Roses
Nice; you could have also included some close ups of flowers...

Re: Cherokee Roses
I shot these from a moving boat at 300mm. Unfortunately, there were too many submerged stumps to get any closer. For me, this image is as much about the surroundings as it is about the processing and focus.
