    A question regarding smugmug

Tammie, the model I shot a few weeks ago has requested a link to high resolution images of the photos that I did of her to get them published in an international magazine.

I uploaded JPEG images from my 6D Mark-2 to my smugmug.com website at 300 PPI with just a slight cropping. Can I give her a link to these images and should they suffice for her needs?

If the answer is yes, is there anything I need to do except to give er a link to the images?

If the answer is no, what would be the best way to get the high resolution images to her?

I don't want any reimbursement for the images, just credit in the magazine.

Most of the photographers I know (including me) tend to use DropBox for this task. There is a free service available.

    https://www.dropbox.com/

In terms of resolution, ppi is little more than a scaling factor and is irrelevant to the discussion; the maximum number of pixels (without upsampling or downsampling) is important. The end user can make all the adjustments they need when they prep for publication. High quality print magazines, I believe are generally offset press printed at a resolution of 150 dpi maximum, often far lower.

Or WeTransfer. There may be more. I don't know the differences.

Thanks, Manfred and George, for the advice. We have a dropbox.com account for our Maltese Rescue California rescue group. However, I will initiate a separate dropbox.com account for my images.

Tammie is getting an award in Hollywood later this month for her Civic Service in the modeling industry. There will be many personages attending the ceremony and a lot of contacts could be made. I was invited and would attend if I were younger. I am a bit old for that kind of stuff now, especially since I would not get home until the wee hours of the morning (I live about a hundred miles from Hollywood).

For WeTransfer you don't need an account. Just go there, fill in your email adress, her email adress, a message if you want and add the pictures. She will get a notification with a link to the pictures. After a week they will be removed.
From what I understood DropBox is more cloud based.

The advantage of using Smugmug for this is that if you want to provide several images to choose from, the viewer can see them all. You also don't need to create a jpeg at all if you use LR; just install Jeffry Friedl's smugmug plugin, and it will create the jpeg on the fly (to your specs) when you export and then get rid of it. The disadvantage is that it is a pain to explain to people how to control the size of the file they download.
