Rural Decay
The topic "Rural Decay" was going through my mind when I saw this windmill and water tank silhouetted against the sky while on my way to Port Fairy in Victoria, Australia. I love the broken, desolate feeling of the photo but I cannot decide if I prefer the colour or the mono image the best.
C&C welcome

Re: Rural Decay
Very nice Martin. I prefer the colour because seeing the rust is in keeping with the title.

Re: Rural Decay
My preference is normally for B&W but, in this case, colour is better in my opinion.

Re: Rural Decay
I think the colour version is preferable too because of the rusty colours and also because it shows the drab sky. I think the mood of that sky is lost in the black and white edition.

Re: Rural Decay
I like the black and white version but the color version does fit the title better.

Re: Rural Decay
I also am more appreciative of the rusted color version of your photo. It looks more "real" to me. It brings out sadness too showing that someone once was there but perhaps are no more.
Lots to be 'seen' in this photo! Well done!
