I have never used split toning because I never understood it's purpose or how to use it. With Donald's last posting I was inspired. Undoubtedly far from a perfected skill but a start is a start.

I tried to work with split toning. Yellow for the highlight and purple/mauve for the shadows. For a first attempt after reading up on the process. I'm happy. Considering that this shot started off as a close-up of a purple flower in our garden perhaps I should make that 'very happy'
