May not be your roots but definitely you're blooming

Simply excellent, Brian. Beautiful image. For once I have nothing else to say

Nice and simple composition with a limited colour palette. It works.

The raindrops(?) are a nice touch as well.

Raindrops indeed. Mother Nature gets the credit there. All the advice is paying off. Basic global tweaks but more local tweaks. Two that helped the shot along was some local brightening and sharpening in the center and using split tones in B&W to bring out the contrast.

exactly the reaction I was hoping for. C1 does not allow you to use B&W in layers. But it does offer the option of applying B&W to your original shot, tweaking the colors in split tone and color sensitivity, applying the adjustments in B&W, turning off the B&W and having your color version pick up on the adjustments.

It works well in a shot like this.

I'm at a point in my life where I enjoy immersing myself in 'Lovely'. Mother nature gets the credit for the colors.

I will add to the kudos. Nothing constructive to say. And what is wrong with Lovely? I dread the day I become so sophisticated I cannot appreciate something solely for its beauty. Not that there is much fear of my becoming more than a rural hick.

I have spent much of my so called adult life keeping away from city slickers and enjoying the company of rural hicks.
