    St Nectans Falls

I had to wait a while to get a single person (plus child) in the image. The red jacket although a cliche is a boon to provide colour and interest where the rock is so dark.

I like the composition triangle of the Fairy Stack (small pile of stones) in the foreground, the adult in the middle distance leading up the image to the falls themselves. I also like the colours in the foreground pebbles.

I have enhanced the greens which were otherwise rather dark and subdued, and I removed a long trailing piece of vegetation which just looked odd against rock and moss.

There was quite a bit of mist and spray from the falls but this does not seem to be too evident, which is fortuitous and not due to anything I have done.

I wanted to capture both movement and detail in the falling water, and the shutter speed almost does that, but some of the whites are a little blown out.

C&C welcome (if I have successfully uploaded the image!).

Looks OK to me. A wide light range has been well handled.

When I lose a bit of detail in moving white water/surf I sometimes manage to clone in some detail from good areas. Don't get too carried away with doing this though; a touch of restraint is needed.

    Thanks for your comments Geoff.

Restraint I can normally do, but I have never thought of cloning water due to the reflections and its translucency. I imagine "white" water though might have fewer of those problems. I will certainly bear that in mind.
