It was so therapeutic to witness this little fawn bounding around the yard! I only wish I had captured her on video.
These were shot with the D750 and the 70-200 mm fully zoomed. I used shutter priority and auto ISO for the most part. The light was low and so I did not push the shutter too high. Nor did I use burst as I was afraid the sound might startle them. C&C welcome.

I like 4 best because of the balanced composition of the fawn and rock partially hidden in the foliage, the catchlight in the eye and very good (ie appropriate) DOF.

No 2 would be lovely but for the car and the sizeable seat(?) in the bushes. Now, if you could cut the deer and fawn out of that and place them in the background of No.3...!

I hope you have some plants left in the garden, Janis.

Thanks, David. Unfortunately, the deer did all of their grazing by the car and so it and the old bench are in the majority of the shots. Thank goodness they did not approach my mother’s hosta or I might not have got any shots at all!

Thanks John and Nandakumar. I wish I had got more action shots, but the fawn was too quick and my reflexes too slow.
