Finally found a use for a tripod

Shooting mostly candid street photography as I do, my tripod spends much of it's lonely existence in the trunk of my car. A few years ago as part of a self-assignment on "Useful photographic tricks I've learned over the years" I enlisted the help of a photobud who is a wonderful photographer and a good sport to help me with this shot.

Having visited many BYOTP (Bring Your Own Toilet Paper) places / countries I did have a bit of a chuckle when I saw this.

On one long ago trip to some rather out of the way places in Egypt we were dispatched with a trowel to bury the solid waste and matches to burn the used toilet paper.

It would seem that the OP has misinterpreted the term astrophotography.

Excellent example of repurposing redundant equipment.

In keeping with the "Pack it in; Pack it out" philosophy in hiking; have you extended this to those hard lens cases we all seem to have lurking in a cupboard?

    Silly boy!
But of course. I always carry two. One for the salami and the other for the baguette.
