    Waiting

This morning as I went to feed the fish I noticed a color changing lizard in our goose house. Putting down the fish food I went for the camera. I started off about 2 meters away. Clicking 3 shots at a time I slowly moved closer. This was shot about 1' 4" from the lizard. Not wishing to annoy the wee fellow I went no closer.

    ISO 100 ~ Shutter Speed 2.5s ~ F/16 ~ Natural Light

Here's the one with exif data. Do you notice a difference?

Nice shot. Did you focus manual? Your pictures are without exif nowadays.

I did indeed. If anyone can tell me how to put the exif onto the shot in Capture 1 v11 I will gladly do it.

    Brian,

In the Recipe section of your Export menu, click the Metadata tab and select the metadata you want to export with the image.

    Waiting

You can choose whether you want to embed your metadata or have it carried in a sidecar file in your C1 preferences, under Image.

+1 to Janice's post with a warning. The file hosting service will sometimes strip out the metadata, so even if you have it attached to your image file, it can still be stripped out. Flickr and Facebook both do this. Others might as well.

Was the lizard after insects in the goose house? Seems a likely spot for a load of insects, if my experience with chicken coops is any basis.

I at first found the mesh a bit off putting. Then it suddenly clicked into context as part of the scene with the lizard "hiding ".

It is an used goose house for now. I have no idea why he or she has taken up residence. Sorry about the mesh but he was on the other side

In that case Blogger (Google) strips out a lot of data.

I only can tell about Flickr. Flickr saves the image in different formats but only the original does have the exif.
So beside taking care the exif is in the image you upload, it's also important to link to the right example of that image. I don't know about blogspot.

That is possible. There has been a lot of online discussion regarding some of the sites that do this. While we photographers want this data, it can also be misused as some devices can encode information like GPS coordinates, name and address information, etc, that could be used to track down where people live.

That might not bother an old guy like me too much, but the parents of younger people who post a large volume of work featuring themselves or their friends probably do not want this information to be generally accessible. In my view, this could easily be handled by allowing people who are legally adults to "opt-in" to sharing some of their metadata.

I upload to my blog (Blogger) and then I copy image location and post here. But the following shot was uploaded to wordpress and then without putting it into a blog I copied image location. Lets see if this works. It loads but does it have the exif?

Excellent. Now for the bad news. Blogger not only strips the exif, they also post process my shots to fit their norms. I just compared shots from word press and blogger and word press keeps my pp. I'm going to change over my two Blogger blogs to wp. Grrrrrrrrr.

From within your blog you link to an image.
I think this is the program you use https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/41641?hl=en
    Go to "insert an image...."
Insert an image into a blog post

    Sign in to Blogger.
    Choose the blog to update.
Create a new post or edit a post to add images.
On the Post Editor, click Insert image .
Choose where you'd like to upload the image from.
Choose one or more images to upload.
    Click Add selected.
When the image is in your post, click it to change the size, caption, or alignment on the page.
As you can see you can select an image from anywhere. If you select the image with exif you showed before than you might get that same image with exif.

When you upload an image to Flickr or Google, several examples of that image are stored. In my Flickr page tat are 11, all different formats. But only ONE has the exif, that's the original.

I give you an example. The same image, 1600x1064

    Waiting

    Waiting

Look at the adress of the image. The o stands for original. The h for a specific size

    You see what I mean?

I never bother to check if the GPS data is imbedded in my EXIF but then I don't have the function turned on in my camera, if I really need to know where I was when the shot was taken I'll take a shot of a landmark or sign. I'm more interested in the name of an exotic bird or building name than I am in the exact location.
