Project 52: Week 25, Successful weight loss (and back on track)

I took the 300mmPF and D810 to the RSPB Loch Leven reserve for its first serious outing.

When you do something like that, it's a good idea to get all your ducks in a row :

Or you can just wing it:

These were shot "naked", that is, with the body in FX mode and with no TC. Since the object of the change in gear was to lose shooting weight, I'm a little reluctant to dive into adding a TC - the weight loss has already been compromised somewhat by the move to the D810 body. However, since a TC is essentially an "optional extra" that can be carried in the backpack until required, it may well end up finding a place. I have found the D750 to D810 more of a change than was the D7100 to D750, and would like to get some more miles on it before deciding on "to TC or not to TC". Right now I'm a very happy chappy.

Tricky scenes but they have worked well.

Thanks Rudi. I'm looking forward to trying the body out with the 90mm macro too, but it's been a bit too windy the last few days.
