Reminds me of an operation I photographed with the Vietnamese Marines. As we were slowly picking our way around the rice paddies, it occurred to me that I stood head and shoulders taller than anyone around me

It certainly has a certain appeal, Brian, je ne sais quoi. Partly the colours, the bokeh, certainly the story, the crispness. the contrast. What is the bit that looks like a rubber band? - I am very intrigued!

This is my best guess. The beast doing the pushing is the bottom of the blossom that is left once the blossom withers. The outstretched arm is what's left of the withered blossom. The rubber band is the long thin stem that would have held up the anther. Originally Posted by Jim A
The head of the fellow being pushed is the anther just before the blossom opens. This might help you visualize it?
