Scrapyard shoot - Cristiana on the DeSoto

I shot quite a few images with Cristiana. This is the third shoot I've done with her. This set are the shots of her with an old De Soto (Chrysler) car. She was definitely one of the more experienced models on the shoot.

She does seem more relaxed, Manfred.

I like the old car, the greenery as a backdrop, I do just find myself with an hmmmm about the model.

Her clothing and posing suggest to me a more dark, moody lighting setting

The backdrop and prop to me would sync better with a flowing summery frock and lighter level of makeup
The 2 don’t work as well together in my opinion.

I find the setting problematic. The greenery is very close and hence mostly in focus, or close to it. I find it a bit distracting, particularly in #2.

That was definitely a problem with the shoot. I joked to the others that the next time I would have to include a weed trimmer and machete in my camera bag. We tried to stomp down the things growing in the foreground, but there is only so much one can do with the tiny saw built into a Swiss Army Knife, which was the largest tool we had along.

As you know Manfred, this is not really my genre so, although I am fascinated by your shoots, I have little usefull to say or contribute.

Just this once though I find myself bothered by #2. It took a minute or two, but somewhat perversely I realised that I find her block heeled shoe distracting, and for me it somehow 'unbalances' the the image. I have the distinct feeling that it would have been more 'harmonious' if she were barefooted?

Actually in this shot, I don't mind the shoes, which were a definite advantage in walking in this setting. I find her hand angle a bit awkward and I should have gotten her to rotate it a bit more towards the camera.
