    Autumn Leaf - Double Exposure

I was experimenting with double exposures. In this instance, it tamed the over-exposed highlights in the background sky and gave the image a pleasing autumn tone. C&C welcome.

Nice one Greg - I find that back lighting can give leaves a very interesting look. You've certainly made the most of the light here.

    I like it.
What do you mean with double exposure? Is it HDR with 2 images or is it one image but twice exposed?
Writing it down I think it's HDR.

It is one frame exposed twice, George. Canon has a multiple exposure function that allows you to shoot up to 9 exposures on the same frame.

For the first exposure, I moved in close, filled the entire frame with the leaf and then defocused. For the second I pulled back and shot the frame you see here.

    I've to think about this.
Nikon has that possibility too, at least my old D80. I never played with it but was thinking by time what happens.
Can you shoot RAW with double exposure? I'm asking for if not, then the two digital images are combined in the camera. I think.

Yes, I only shoot raw, and the images are combined in camera. There is a choice of 4 blending methods.
