Lytebox (litebox, lightbox..)

I have seen many posts here that refer to members viewing posted images in Lytebox. I asume this is more than just clicking in the image to see a slightly larger version.

Is this a browser add-on, a setting on this site or a separate piece of software that I can download. A quick search suggests it is something to do with Wordpress but that could be a red herring. A search of the CiC forums produces many references, but I did not see an explanantion there.

Actually that is all it is. It is a feature of the forum software.

Clicking on the image allows one to view a higher resolution image than in the thread, assuming that a higher quality image has been posted. It's a tool I use all the time as it gives the viewer a more detailed image to look at.

As Manfred said, David. It is the best way to view images posted here as it allows you to see more detail. The larger images are often more impressive than they first appear in the normal thread page.

Thank you Manfred and Greg for clarifying this. I have been using the facility for some time but did not realise it was one and the same the same thing. I now know that I am not missing out!

Dan I believe Lytebox is the name of the browser plug-in used.
