    Thanks, John. I had to work out the shadows, but most was done in camera. I've shot this area so many times, I can pretty much hit optimum exposure the first frame...though admittedly will explore differing exposures to see what else I can conjure up.

    That's a stunning scene, Chris. The shadows seem a bit too light to me, they look a bit hdr-ish, but if that is how the scene looked...

    Spanish Moss is a threadlike parasite that causes a great deal of hard contrast in a directed backlighting situation. Any southern photographer will tell you the difficulty of shooting this stuff and making it look like what they "saw." I chose to emphasize the textural qualities of the tree and moss as a contrast to the background softness of the morning's light.

    I love how the scene is backlit and the contrast of the moss is enhanced just by where you stood in the composition. The whole scene is softened by the sunrise colors. Nice job.

    Well done given the strong back lighting. Lifting the shadow detail works and while it tends to leave the image looking a bit flat, I feel your PP choices are appropriate for this scene.
