    Interesting capture! Consider cropping the top down to slightly into the top rope and also cropping the left to avoid a clear centerpoint focus. The latter crop may also emphasize the dark/light contrast. See what you think!

    Thanks for commenting, Judith. I thought about the top for some time before committing to this crop. I decided to include a bit of the timber for context. I will think it about it some more now.

    Nice work. I like the current crop because it provides context, as you noted.

    There are definitely at least two approaches to this photo. I don't think one is better than the other. One preserves context so you know what you are looking at. The other emphasizes the light and shadow in a more abstract way. We each find our own way/style in the choices we make.

    I agree, Judith. I generally prefer the more abstract approach, too.
