I enjoy seeing and taking perspective shots like this one, and it looks to be a very peaceful place. Although it's being a bit pedantic, I would prefer it with the nearside corners not cut off and the edge level.

    Cheers.

What strikes me about this image is that your camera was not quite level and square to the subject. When shooting a shot like this where symmetry is such a significant feature, these two properties need to be pretty well right on. Rotating the image a few degrees clockwise is something worth considering and cropping the image so that the symmetry is right on should be something you are looking for too.

It's possible to hand-hold to get this type of shot, but I find a tripod with bubble level makes life a lot easier.

    Thanks Manfred

I recently re-worked this image, cleaning up some leaves and darkening the water a little, working from the original TIFF file I had created. I obviously forgot to level it this time round!

I did use a tripod for the original shot and used the cameras level display to ensure I was straight.

I also think the couple do upset the symmetry, and might have been better if they were passing through the archway at the end, as all the lead in lines take the eye that way. It would have made an even stronger image, but as ever, its all about the moment and its not always perfect.
