All three of these are natural light augmented by bounced fill flash.
I shot the same carpenter last year, but the shot was much wider and more about the shot than about the person. The colours and tone were inspired by Ottawa photographer Ray Pilon, who was Director of Photography for Lee Valley Tools for many years. He used the rich warm look in his work in producing images for the woodworking tool catalogues back in the 1990s and early 2000s. He taught me studio lighting.
