Making a snap judgement, I would suspect that this lady might have some mental problems. Good image!
Terrific image
Good image that would have been a better image had you not cropped off the top of the security guard's head.
Really great (but sad) image. You caught her expression in what is a very distressed state. Like the lady looking over to see what’s going on.
Only minor nitpick would be the security dudes head he a bit cropped off.
Hanks for sharing John.
Mandes must have been typing same time I was lol.
Odd how in spite of what appears to be a noisy event taking place within only a few feet, only 2-3 of the folks in the background are paying attention. Not sure what that says about our security system, or people in general- as if public violence is commonplace.
As to the guard's head, it's clear this is a snap shot, not one in which the 'tog had the time to get a good composition.
Thanks for sharing, John.
Zen
That is a very good street photo John and also very confronting.
Cheers Ole
The way this person is looking at you, I am curious if she thought you'd help! I also wonder why anyone would want to be in police work and have to deal with situations like this one.
Good picture! It is one that has me looking and thinking about what might be happening in this scene.
Street at its best makes you think and this makes me wonder what came before and what came next? The young boy in the BG looks disturbed by the events happening in front of him. Everyone else just seems interested. A well captured piece of social comment.

I would guess that many police are interested in public safety while others enjoy the control that a badge often gives. Some (not all) law enforcement agencies offer very decent pay and allowances as well as health and retirement benefits...
As far as security guards, the reasoning is a little more confusing because these people certainly don't enjoy the same pay and benefits as sworn police officers. I suspect that some security guards are cop wannabes while others have just gravitated to this type of job for the lack of any other employment prospects. There are also some security guards who are trying to be accepted to law enforcement and/or who are waiting for the training classes. Of course, there may just be some people who enjoy this type of work - for the life of me, I cannot understand why
OTOH: I would far rather be a security guard than a prison guard. Just before I retired from the Navy in about 1989, the California State Prison System tried to recruit a bunch of us soon to be retired sailors into the prison system. When I told the recruiter that I would not have anything to do with that job, he countered with, "But it pays sixty thousand a year (remember this was 1989)!" I told him that I would pay any amount not to work in a prison...
Quite the dramatic capture, John. Do you what was going on with her? Freaking out on drugs? Attempting something illegal? Or just having an "episode"?
