    "Merlin's Cave"

Haven't tried any B&W for a long time. This is the reputed "Merlin's Cave" underneath the iron age fort at Tintagel in Cornwall, England.

    C&C would be much appreciated.

The rock crevices and cave have some potential (open up the shadows of the crack and bring out some of the detail of the rock face) the water doesn't have much appeal unless you can enhance the swells to add leading lines.

Looks a lot better with the Lightbox view where all the fine detail and contrast become visible. This initial lower resolution image doesn't do justice to your photograph

Yes, it is much better in lytebox. The lines and texture in the rocks could be brought out by dodging and burning the shadows and lights with curve layers and a bit of brushwork.

I remember seeing this cave many years ago when visiting some of my wife's relatives in Cornwall.

The textures show nicely in Lytebox.

I wonder if cropping the top of the image to focus the viewer more on the cave entrance might not be a stronger composition?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, Manfred, I agree the tighter crop is more interesting.

Anyone, what does Lytebox actually do? I'd thought that it removed distractions and just presented the image, but it seems it does a bit more than that?

It’s just a feature that lets you get a larger view of the image. Clicking on the image gets you a larger view and if you click on the zoom icon it shows a full size view, depending on the underlying image size.
