Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

"Ugly Betty" is a Gin Still in the Bruichladdich Distillery of the Isle of Islay. The metal container on the outlet from the still is where the botanical ingredients are infused in to the spirit.

I was reminded of this image by Manfred's comments in Peter's recent "Still" thread LINK

I suspect that after a glass or two, Betty begins to look quite attractive. Nice capture.

I see Ugly Betty has a friend off to the left; the top of a traditional "pot still" that was used in small batch whisky production. Most of the "business part" of the pot still would be located in the floor below.

Another nice image in an industrial setting. It seems you had a little more space to work with than Peter did with his gin still shots.

Now that has seen some use. Lovely picture. it seems to have morphed into the ground.

You are correct Manfred, in fact Ugly Betty has three companions of the traditional style. I shall star a separate thread to show them and others in all their glory.
