A good, no excellent, shot of the bee Tom,

However, I am distracted by the oof leaf on the left hand edge of frame.
It can't be cropped away, that spoils the composition.
If mine, I'd be tempted to clone it out (but accept you may not wish to tinker with your shot).

One way to think of it is that you could have tied that leaf back out of the way and achieved the same result, whether that makes the idea of cloning it out any more acceptable is the question.

I don't know you well enough to know your views on such 'trickery', I'm just making a suggestion, perhaps for a more general audience than yourself.

Thanks, Dave. I thought about photoshopping it out, but I'm just an old film snapper, trying real hard to adjust, to borrow from the Bellamy Brothers song about an old hippie. Sometimes my post-processing efforts frustrate me. Anyhow, if the flower had been on my property I would have tied off the leaf, but it was in a bed at the LBJ Wildflower Center, and even we members are adjured to keep to the path...

I agree Dave. But... When we use our eyes to observe only the area around what we are looking at is in focus. All around the area things are out of focus.

I only mention this because lately I've begun to appreciate naturally out of focus images.

Either way this is one heck of a bee shot
