Artist in Residence.
Taken at a local Art event. The entrants had to produce a piece representative of the town and its surrounds within the Day. This artist chose a portrait of the Mayor.

Re: Artist in Residence.
Great shot. I might crop a tad off image left but, great as it is... Super lighting and color...

Re: Artist in Residence.
Looks like the tablet is the modern version of the camera obscura. Interesting shot, John.

Thanks all for commenting. Greg, talking to him, he draws the lines by hand in photoshop but you can generate a grid from the Vanishing Point Tool in Photoshop and after seeing him, that's exactly what my other half has had me doing.

Artist in Residence.
The artist seems to be quite talented and you’ve captured the scene well John.
I may have been tempted to crop the right side to remove the part frame in the edge, that would still leave a part frame at the top but it’d be an anchor for the top right corner IYSWIM.

Re: Artist in Residence.
I would leave this image as it is now, John. Any crop is going to have unintended consequences with items around the general scene.

Re: Artist in Residence.
Thanks all for the additional comments. My feelings as well Geoff. Having things hanging out of the edge of the comp. isn't ideal but I guess its a trade off against showing his environment as well as him and his work.

Re: Artist in Residence.
Really nice
I’m thinking a crop on the right, to remove that blue picture, but understand why you haven’t.

Excellent as it is; the environment is important in this portrait.

Re: Artist in Residence.
This image gives me the feeling of a Norman Rockwell Painting!

Re: Artist in Residence.
Thanks Kay, thanks Tom, thanks Richard. Richard, thanks for introducing me to Norman Rockwell. The jury is still out for me when it comes to his artistic style but I have never seen an artist before that can capture life's moments quite as effectively (and on occasion, as amusingly) as he has.

Re: Artist in Residence.
A good environmental portrait, that has all the elements necessary. It really brings the image to life.
I like it.
