I'm usually not much of a bird photographer, but this female rose-breasted grosbeak has been hanging around on a bush just outside of our kitchen window. It does not appear to be particularly shy and one can get quite close to it. She disappears for several hours at a time and then in the morning or evening, she's back on the branch.
Not being a birder, I confirmed what type of bird it is with one of my friends who is an avid birder.
