    Red Coxcomb: Sony Alpha a68 ~ Tamron 90mm 272E ~ ISO 100 ~ Shutter Speed 1/4s ~ F/18 ~ Natural Light ~ Exposure Compensation 0.0

Red Coxcomb is a beautiful flower. I was surprised at the detail of the ant in the lower right corner. Especially as I was shooting at F/18. F/18 with the a58 was seriously deteriorated over F/14 or 16. But with the a68 it works rather well for flowers.

Beautiful shot of the flower. That pole/stalk at the bottom right hand of the frame really does distract attention.

Unfortunately, F/18 also reveals more of the background which can be distracting, as Donald has observed.

Take two. And with less distraction from the stem the ant is more prominent.

    I think that's much better.
