Tokina 11-16 - Where to buy?

So I'm looking to purchase a tokina 11-16 f2/8 for Canon but I can't seem to find anywhere that's selling it. It's been "unavailable" at B&H for quite some time now. I don't know of any other reputable online sellers so I'm asking for some suggestions.

Also, does anyone know why the canon version is more expensive than the nikon version? Just wondering.

Also is it safe to trust an unheard of retailer from Amazon?

    TIA!

Warehouse Express in the UK are showing it as 'In Stock' at the moment. That's where I got mine.

    'fraid not.

I wouldn't, but others who have bought from such retailers may have different views.

Good choice, very happy with mine. Have you seen the Ken Rockwell review? http://www.kenrockwell.com/tokina/11-16mm.htm#perf

I got mine from Warehouse Express in the UK, and they are in stock, but they seem to be a lot more expensive over here at £509 ($810)

    Hi Chris,

I have bought from Amazon UK resellers; service has been as just as quick as 'normal' Amazon, just you usually do have to pay a carriage charge, rather than get 'SuperSaver free delivery' in 5-7 days. (I'm a patient cheapskate )

I think our consumer laws may offer more protection than US, not sure if that's relevant though.

At the end of the day, even Amazon US probably don't want any bad experiences, but might be worth seeing if a US based comment is forthcoming.

    Cheers,

Some of the retailers whom I have found very reliable and reputable are

17th Street Camera in New York City from whom I have purchased several lenses. They list one in stock for $700 ( http://www.17photo.com/ProductDetail...U=ATX116PRODXC ) I have purchased several lenses and a camera from this retailer.

Canoga Camera in Canoga Park, CA from who I have purchased a few smaller items . Canoga Camera lists the 11-16mm as out of stock ( http://www.canogacamera.com/ProductD...ductCode=82234 )

Adorama in new York City from whom I have purchased many large and small items. Adorama lists the 11-16mm Tokina for $650 with free shipping, but it is not in stock ( http://www.adorama.com/TN1116EOS.html )

The reason that I buy more from B&H, Adorama and 17th Street Photo in NYC than from Canoga Camera in California is because of taxes, not because of service from Canoga Camera.

.... and I thought it was because of our relationship over on POTN, Richard!
Good to see you here, and thanks for the Adorama recommendation.
