This time tried a different approach. Lit by a single snooted off-camera flash.

When using a snoot, perhaps directing the light at Rio's eyes rather than the top of the head might illuminate both eyes.

BTW: this image is nostalgic to me. I used to have a head of hair very much like Rio's Those days (as well as that hair) are gone forever

Nice portrait of Rio, Peter, but I agree with Richard, I think we need to see at least one eye clearly.

How did you get your dog to sit so still, Mine runs off everytime the camera comes out.

Along the lines of food bribery, I make chicken jerky by slicing chicken breasts real thin and dehydrating the chicken for about 12-hours in my food dehydrator. Dogs will kill for that stuff. It is also great to gain the trust of a dog that has been mistreated.

It's less expensive than commercial treats (I buy the breasts when they are on sale) and I KNOW what is in my treats. That is not necessarily the case with commercial dog treats.

We just started making our own dog treats too. I have an a6500 being delivered on 9/7. I will use my dog, a rescued terrier mix, to learn on. I'll share some of the pic with you guys.
