Chapada das Mesas National Park (Brazil)

Hello, dear friends...long time no see.

I am sharing some images from my last trip. The destiny was the Chapada das Mesas National Park, in northeast of Brazil. The park is in the Cerrado biome and attractions include waterfalls, peculiar rock formations and crystal clear (and I really mean it) water rivers. It is located in a quite remote area of Brazil (about 2,400km from Santos, where Ilive). Some spots are only accessible by 4x4 trucks. I hope you like it. C&C welcomed. Regards,

#1 - Pedra Caida complex


#2 - The Sanctuary waterfall, in Pedra caida complex. This is an arenite cave, where water managed to find its way through the cave's roof over the years, creating an incredible place. It was quite dark and wet inside and I was inside water to my chest line so it was quite hard to obtain this one which, athough not a great image, works, I hope, as a nice register of this unique place.

#6 - The "Blue enchant" (althought it does not seem, the depth is about 1,5m in the bottom of the image and reaches about 6m in the blue part, in the back. While snorkelling, I could easily see the other edge.

Fascinating series of some beautiful places Otavio. Interestingly (and I'm assuming, quite naturally), the hole drilled by the wind in the Arenite rock is an almost perfect representation of the South American Continent upside down.

Fascinating series of some beautiful places Otavio. Interestingly (and I'm assuming, quite naturally), the hole drilled by the wind in the Arenite rock is an almost perfect representation of the South American Continent upside down.
