    Country roads take us home

We had to go to the rubbish tip the other day and were forced to drive down these roads to get there. Thought we would get a couple of shots to show you all some of the roads we have to cope with here. Bloody gum trees where ever you look! They line all of our back roads. Pretty gross, hey? Like, seen one gum tree, you've seen 'em bloody all!
These shots reminded us of John Denver's popular song, " Country roads, take me home...." Which in our case they do, provided there are no excursions on to road ahead by kangaroos impeding our progress.

Its the bits that fall off them that worry me. Don't call them "widow makers" for nothing

Give me a home among the gum trees.
With lots of plum trees, a sheep or two, ka-kangaroo,
A clothes line out the back, verandah out the front,
    And an old rocking chair.

You might tire of the scenery but I've not see this type of landscape. Did you find your way home again???
I especially like your third photo. And I have always enjoyed John Denver's songs!

Last shot reminds me of Oak Alley Plantation in Lousiana ...

I really like these images... they remind me of when I was in Australia over 35 years ago. I recall the trees were great in keeping the car cooler as we went along the roads in the summer heat and were much appreciated!
