    Dxo Photolab

    Hi all,

I have currently changed my workflow to use DXO photo lab as my main raw process/editor. I find it quicker to use than all the sliders in Lightroom.

I am using Lightroom 6 As my DAM and processing in dxo photolab directly from Lightroom.

How ever I am find that

    1. After selecting the image to be edited in Lightroom DXO is occasionally opening the previous image edited !

Is there a fix for this.

    2. Can I stop DXO photolab from creating its collections on each import in Lightroom.

    3. Can I stop DXO photolab from creating its own project for each image processed.

It is my intention to drop adobe from my pc and use Affinity Photo for any further layer based
    processing.

    ...

I use DxO but not in conjunction with Lightroom, I'm afraid.

If your plan is to drop Adobe software, you might want to stop using Lightroom first and use Photolab in its place. Like Donald, I too use Photolab for certain images and cannot understand why you are using the workflow that you are.

    Re: Dxo Photolab

I also use PhotoLab and Lightroom (CC Classic) together. I'll outline my workflow below, but to answer your direct questions:

No, I haven't noticed the wrong image problem (but my new workflow avoids it)
No, I don't know how to stop PhotoLab creating a new Collection, and it can be a pain.
Don't use Projects, so can't help.

    New experimental workflow, driven by:
For my m4/3 RAW images, PhotoLab plus PRIME noise reduction, plus DxO lens correction gives me a better starting point
Using PhotoLab as a Lightroom plug-in can only be done image by image, and is slow and tedious

    So I am trying:
Start in PhotoLab for initial culling and
BATCH Export to Lightroom as .dng, with a PRIME and a couple of minor tweaks in a preset (if you do a small batch to start with, you can continue in Lightroom while the next batch churns away)
Use Lightroom as the DAM, and for the rest of my pp.

    I'm a low volume photographer!

I don't think the last bit helps the OP, but comments welcome.

I use ACR rather than LR, but this may be useful.

Cull in ACR, maybe use star ratings for different ISO/image type.

Open the folder in DxO, edit, and batch. For many, DxO gives the result I'm after. For those that don't, export as .dng or 16-bit Tiff.
