Hi Donald,
I think you are right. A little more crop would be better for the image. I wanted to show some of the foreground, so that the dimension of the gasometer is quite clear.
Inside the gasometer has two continuous main levels and a glass elevator that leads to look-out platforms inside. Usually they have very large objects installed inside together with a light an sound composition. My favorite exhibition was in 2004 when they showed the ballon Breitling Orbiter III with a spectular light installation that simulated sun and moon. http://www.gasometer.de/en_GB/index....3_8&lang=en_GB

Very interesting shot; I'm hoping to take a picture of Xmas lights in Lichfield which presents just about the same problems. I hope I can get them as sharp.
Hi Steve,
I shot it at 38mm (APS-C) at f/7.1 with 15 sec at ISO 200 using a tripod and self trigger (10sec delay). I think I used AF on this shot. Today I would focus manuell using liveview at x10.
Bye
Robert
This one slipped through the forum almost unnoticed. Glad I backtracked and took another view. Great photograph.
