I took this picture a while ago. Looked at it in a new way. C&C most appriciated.

Wonderful potential. As it stands, my eye can't rest anywhere but the center rectangle and so gets fixated there. Others may not find that issue. Consider cropping away from the left about 1/3rd and the same off the top. That may move the rectangle off center and create potentially better eye movement within the image. I can really see why this image grabbed you!

This image has a huge amount to recommend it -so many diagonal lines and different patterns.

I also find the centre rectangle very demanding of attention due to the various lead in lines to it and the very pale tone. I wonder whether if the tone was darkened a liitle that might help?

I find the white triangle on the lefthand side a little too much and might be tempted to try a version with it cropped out.

However, I would not go as far a Judith when cropping the top as I would want to keep the integrity of the black triangle.

Seeing the potential in this was excellent. Well done. The patterns and shapes are memerising. You could look at this for ages. I don't have any problem with the centre rectangle. Indeed, it serves to break up the patterns and gives the eye a rest from all those lines.

I would, if it was mine, lose that empty space on the left hand side. It does nothing to enhance the image. Crop just at the top where the white space starts and take it down from there. The resulting frame would, in my opinion, hold all that is so good about the image.

Rather than crop the white space at left, I'd maybe fill it with very dark gray - same for that little bit of white at the very top ...

Great composition, Ole. An alternative to cropping and filling would be a rotation to the left. Expand your canvas first so you don't lose anything to a crop. You'll need to watch what it does to the diagonals in the middle and on the top right though. They might finish up vertical and that might not suit the composition.

I think the latest version is definitely stronger than the shot you started out with. The distracting elements are gone and the bright area in the centre of the frame pulls the viewer's eyes into the shot, where the lines and geometric shapes can be explored and enjoyed. Nicely done Ole!

I prefer the original - the lines in the revised version are too "jarry" with nothing to relieve or counterbalance that, unlike the original where the light area at the left gives the eye somewhere to rest.

This discussion has proved again that there are many views on what is good. How important it is to listen to every view and then take the reins into your own hand and go your own way!

My two cents. i think the cropped image is superior; more "abstract".
Kudos for seeing this and doing a great job of presentation

Wow. Your mind is either really well structured or really twisted to see the potential image in that. Nicely seen and captured. The cropped version does look a bit more abstract in that it forces one to wonder what it is. Well done.
