    Tree root driftwood

    Fungal growth and weathering effects gave the colours. I am intrigued by the complexity of the grain.

    I rotated it to get the above image, strange that an image this complex has a better orientation then the one nature provided when the tree washed up on shore. The human mind is a strange thing

    Amazing detail.
    An ever closer crop without any background, would give it a nice abstract look.
    Can you tell I’m thinking of abstract art for our new house?

    The cropped version really does the subject justice. Now a bit of light-handed dodging and burning could really make the pattern stand out.

    It is an interesting bit of wood for sure. I like the vertical frame in the first post. Good eye to see the opportunity.
