A low light cell phone snap attempt to turn artsy portrait

I know this is technically crap and not for everyone, but it was fun to play with.
Our one (out of two) 18 week old labrador puppies. This is her little sleeping cave, and they both want to come up on the bed in the morning. Her brother is lighter in color with a black nose and black eyes. Man have they grown, despite efforts at slow growth and high quality food.

A charming pup, for sure. I don't know how much cropping a cell phone shot can take, but if you crop it from the top, from the left and more severely from the right, I think it would look nice.

Thank you Tom. Could be mistaken for film (I do have a film camera).

Our two pups are field labradors. They surely have those strong instincts already.
Need to find good stuff for their minds as they mature. Very smart pups.

Looks good to me, don't like the cropped legs but it is what it is.

    Sharon,

You stated in the title that this was lowlight, it looks like there's a good source of light angled into the room, was this final composition mostly the result of editing?

    Hi John, thanks for asking.
Yeah, I did some funky stuff in lightroom to edit the photo. It was super noisy and just not that great, but there was enough there with her expression I decided to goof around with it. We have a couple of fantastic and beautiful pups, so I hope to get out the real camera to use.... they are just so fast it's hard to really get them.

Well you did well with the processing and output, I agree a cut pup.

Thank you for commenting John, they are beautiful (and hilarious) puppies. Agree on cropping her legs off, too bad.
Not great technically. Seems tiny pic link no longer works.

I love this image. It is the epitome of a gangling large breed adolescent pup... What an intelligent and beautiful face. I suspect that a slightly wide focal length increased the apparent size of those paws but, that even makes the image better. BTW: I do like the cropped version best and the B&W rendition suits the image very well...

Thank you so much sir. My brother commented that it is a classic take on what he pictures a true hunting pup to look like in an old image. That was my goal. She does have a beautiful face and she is all girl. Her brother is very handsome with a black nose and black eyes.
They come from a field pedigree from an excellent breeder, so trying to figure out how best to engage that in them w/o turning them into hunting dogs as we are not hunters. They are both so hilarious and smart, so looking forward to seeing what they can do. And the paws are big but the EARS are what I love in both of them. Doing our best with a high quality dehydrated raw food/some added protein to keep their growth slow and steady, but they are not going to be small dogs LOL
