    Nice sky, I'd consider cropping out a lot of the foreground or enhance the shadows to reveal more detail.

    You have captured an interesting sky, Gerry but I agree with John. I would reduce the foreground and crop the tree out completely too. That would allow the viewer to admire the contrails etc without the distraction of the tree.

    Personally, I like having the tree to give some indication of scale and depth, although this might be better defined? Losing this and too much of the foreground would be detrimental leaving just a sky shot?

    You certainly have enough "headroom" in this image to open up the foreground and add some interest to the scene. The tree is out of focus and in the foreground. This is a bit of a problem with the human visual system; we have no issues when the area behind the subject is unsharp, but when it is in front of the subject, it tends to look "wrong".

    I see that you shot at f/1.8 (wide open) at ISO 80 at 1/80th with an 85mm lens. I can only assume this was a hand-held shot? A tripod with a smaller aperture would have helped with the soft tree in the foreground.
