Is anyone still using the original software, pre-DxO: and if you are have you noticed any quirks in the software such as unresponsive sliders or certain filters complete actions before you've finished your edits?

Yes I am and no I haven't
same for me
Roy and Bill,
Which OS are you both using, I'm wondering if its Win10 related?
I haven't yet noticed any odd behaviour as PaintShop Pro plug-ins in Win10. Perhaps you could try using the modules as stand-alone apps?

Those are well known issues with the Google version of Nik. For some reason some people saw the issue and others did not. My understanding is that the issue existed with both the Windows and Mac versions. Bug fixes were the only things that DxO did with the first two versions that they rolled out.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software? This sometimes works.
I too have the original Nik software collection utilised on a Mac. No issues.
I'm using windows 10

I haven't used it much recently, but I haven't had any problems with using it under Windows 10. If rebooting and restarting the software doesn't solve the problem, then I would follow Manfred's suggestion.
I have had the same problems with the Google version and the DXO version. I am in conversation with DXO who acknowledge the problem and send me e-mail regularly saying I haven't been forgotten and they are working on but It will be a long haul. This has been going on for about three months and so I am beginning to wonder, particularly since DXO went into voluntary receivership earlier this year (but are still trading). The odd thing is that the Google version started having problems with the introduction of the original W10 version, it worked perfectly after the first major update of W10 and then stopped working again after the last update. There is another major update due when they have finally debugged it and it will be interesting to see if that makes a difference. The odd thing is that the problems are intermittent. Sometimes the software works perfectly, sometimes not and even a reboot doesn't cure the problem. The problem only affects some of the filters. The tools (Define, the sharpeners and Vivesa) work all of the time. There are fixes on line (Google the problem) that effectively slow boot up of the filter plugins but they don't work smoothly afterwards - but they do work. I will post updates on progress when (and if?) DXO finally get back to me.
I use Windows 10 and NIK as a PS CC plug-in with no apparent problems...
Still using the free version from Google (macOS Mojave) without any issues. Typically I access it via Lightroom's Edit In function but its fine via Photoshop under the Filters menu too.
Hi, Robin. Good to see you posting. Thought we'd lost you.
I use it through Lightroom/Elements using the plug in as well.
