I wanted to buy one to analyse my golf swing but my wife said it would be a waste of both time and money...

Yes a standard definition video camera with a frame rate of 25 fps would be adequate to analyse your golf swing I would think?

However as the ball can go in any direction the camera will need to be equipped with a fisheye lens to have any chance of following it's flight.
More seriously though I do enjoy people posting links to interesting articles that keep me aware of all the fascinating developments in photography even if a little extreme.

my favorite motorcycle is a 650cc single made by Suzuki. But I do enjoy looking at the big stuff. Same with photography, I keep it simple but I enjoy the big stuff.
I do believe it will take the next generation to catch you leaving your house in a hurry
