    Photoshop 2019 and ACR

Anyone else noticed a problem when you go back to ACR from Photoshop, of then getting out of it back to Photoshop. As I write, I am stuck in ACR and will need to close the computer to force it to shut down.

Edit - Sometimes. Just did the above and now it is working fine.

Donald - it's not just ACR. I had the same type of random failure loading the Nik Collection software (the up-to-date DxO version). It looks like Photoshop CC 2019 is due for some bug fixes. This seems to happen every time there is a new major software release; new software = new unwanted features (i.e. bugs).

It seems to be somewhat random and will not always repeat.

You can try Ctrl_Alt_Del, taskmanager. Select the program and force that one only to close.

Good suggestion George. That is how I handle this type of issue too.

God, I had forgotten about that. We used to use that quite a lot in the 'olden days'. When I need it, I'll remember that it is still in use.

First look at the cpu activity in the same task manager. Sometime the program is still busy in the background. I know CaptureNx has that bad performance when adding keywords to the images in a bulk.

If Donald and I are seeing the same problem, Photoshop showed 0% CPU activity when I looked at Task Manager; i.e. the software had hung.

Yes indeed. The programme wasn't trying to do anything. It had indeed hung.
