First Shot With Night Owl Lens
The Night Owl is a 75mm f/1.7 lens designed for a surveillance camera which I adapted to my Sony A6500 using an M-42 to E-mount "dumb" adapter.
I think that this lens could be a fairly nice portrait glass - especially for female portraits. I like the way that it rendered Stella's face and I think hat i might be quite flattering to human females.
It is certainly inexpensive! I paid less than $45 USD for the lens and adapter with shipping. The lens was new
The unique thing about this lens is that it doesn't have a diaphragm. It is f/1.7 and cannot be stopped down. I have ND filters that I can use. Focusing the lens with the A6500 is quite easy because of the aid of Focus Peaking.
I have three photo shoots scheduled for the next two weekends during which I plan to do a lot of informal portraiture using the A6500 with the native Sony 50mm f/1.8 OSS lens, with the Night Owl, with the Russian 58mm Helios and with a Canon 85mm f/1.8 with MC-11 adapter.

Re: First Shot With Night Owl Lens
I would expect that the impression is given by the abrupt drop off in DOF due to the 75mm lens at f/1.8 shot relatively close to the dog!
