Nikon Small World 2018 Winning Images
Even though I am someone who has any interest in doing this type of photography, some of these images are amazing.

Manfred, this is a world that is only opened up to us because of new technologies. Thanks for the link - I've been sitting all morning in awe.
Cheers Ole

Amazing indeed. This spurred me a few weeks ago to try to find a way to learn photomicrography. It entails a lot of equipment as well as skills I don't have, so I want to try it with experienced folks before deciding whether to take the plunge. I won't know for a bit whether I have found a way to do this.

Thanks for posting the link Manfred. There's some wonderful images. The medical ones didn't do much for me though I do appreciate the technical aspects of them. But the ones that were of a more "nature" subject were outstanding, the Butterfly wing cells made me want to see the whole of the butterfly.

I agree, the butterfly wing scales were among the images that convinced me to give this a try. I have an appointment for an introduction to photomicrography at one of the setups used in my university. Unfortunately, it's not until December 6, so I suspect it will be a long time before I have anything to post (if ever...).
