Base Shot for comparing the digital microscope to the camera and macro lens

Tonight M'lady brings home the Celestron digital microscope. Tomorrow I'll pluck one of these flowers and see how the systems compare. With the caveat that I haven't a clue how to operate the microscope.

Well, there is RTFM and then as well as, or instead of, that, you get on and find out by trial and error. Whatever you do, have fun.

I'm sure you are going to share every step of the way on this adventure...

DoF is going to be a real issue at those magnifications, so I suspect keeping whatever you are shooting flat and on the focal plane is going to be critical to getting a strong image.

My unsolicited suggestion is that you use a different shot as a base shot: one with a lot of in-focus detail, and ideally, as Manfred suggested, reasonably flat and parallel to the sensor. A shot of that sort will allow you to see detail that the microscope reveals.

I am definitely having fun Plus I've joined two or three groups dedicated to this type of shooting.
