Art Gallery...Again
This is a heavily cropped version of a photo I have posted here before. I am posting this now because I worked long and hard to learn some basic editing and I would appreciate hearing any comments.

Re: Art Gallery...Again
It might help if you added a link to your earlier post so people could compare the before and after.
The first thing I would do with this version would be to remove the left picture frame. Just crop it off. It makes a remarkable improvement to my eye.
I'm not sure about the way you have cropped the bottom. Could you explain your reasons for making this choice?

+1 to Greg's comments. I also think opening the shadows at the eye sockets would improve the image.

Re: Art Gallery...Again
Thank you very much Greg and Manfred for commenting. The top picture below is the original. I cropped out one son and got the second photo below. Then I cropped again, but perhaps lost too much of Christopher's body. I thought that this was all that I needed for the story but I really do struggle when it comes to choosing a crop.

Catherine - a few more thoughts on this one.
I find the head only crop in your original image too tight and a bit awkward looking, so combining the ideas in the first edit on this page with the original posting, I think you get a stronger image this way.
