Maybe I am doing this wrong...
Being "OLD SCHOOL" as well as being an old man; I really enjoy having a printed manual for my gear - especially when I am transitioning to a new camera like the A6500 from the Canon DSLR line.
I don't mind printing out the manual because my Brother laser printer using a generic toner cartridge as well as some loss leader paper from the office supply store, it costs me about two cents a page - since the printer prints double sided, that is somewhere around a penny per manual page!
However, I only want to print out the areas of the manual that I need. I certainly so not need any information on printing directly from the camera nor how to integrate the camera with an Android smartphone (I'm an iPhone user).
Generally when I print out manuals, I select the pages that I want and the pages that I don't want and only print the pages I need. It's quicker to print and the printed manual is less bulky and i will be saving trees
The problem is that there are no page numbers in the Sony Manual for the A6500. The manual is set up with topic numbers not page numbers and the topic numbers do not coincide with the page numbers (if they had page numbers). Besides going through the manual page by page and selection the pages to print and not to print, how could I avoid printing what I do not want and ensure that I do have what I do want

If it's only a few pages you are after for printing how about using the 'Snipping Tool' in Windows or using the 'Print Screen' function.
These grabs can then be printed easily.

The pdf doesn't use the page numbering of the manual, it uses its own page numbering. Sometime they're equal, sometime not.
You probably use the win pdf reader. Get rid of it. Use either Adobe Reader or FF. Then you have control of the pages just as the pdf file uses it.

ps
I just see FF is using the manual page numbers.

Richard,
I just wonder if your problem is solved.
