The focus is starting to come into focus

The focus is starting to come into focus

Not meaning to brag but this shot is much better focused than any of my other microscopic shots. Better because with the help of Celestron and others I now have full functionality in the software for my InfiniView and because I have found the subject needs to be entirely within the circular light for me to achieve focus.

Now all I need is lots of practice focusing, skill building around the uses of light and shadow in microscopy and maybe one or two thousand other bits and bobs.

As always, shot in our garden/temple somewhere in the Philippines.

Looks sharp to me. A technical question, if you don't mind: Why f/2.8? Little do I know about extreme close photography, but I'd expect to require f/32 or something to achieve sufficient DOF.

I never mind a technical question. It's just that I can't often answer them. But this time I can. The InfiniView camera is set to AE and the AE program automatically adjusts the ISO and shutter speed when I change the light but stays on F/2.8.

This is very much an introductory digital microscope. Very much like a low level bridge camera it allows me lots of room to learn but not much room for control.
