    Microscopy: 5

Philippines coin. Possibly during the Spanish occupation? Perhaps the early American occupation? I’ll be doing research to see what I can find out.

The irregularities in the shot indicate that the copper for this coin was either poured into a hand carved receptacle or pressed with a hand carved form.

As always, shot in our garden/temple somewhere in the Philippines.

So what is your goal with the microscope, are you trying to emulate a macro lens or just going for available capabilities? I ask because if trying to emulate a macro lens are you getting 1:1 or does that even matter?

Exploration. I am looking at different ways to enter extreme macro. This scope allows me to view at a maximum of 4x and introduces me to the problems of high mag and F/2.8.

I am also finding the inherent limitations of a microscope versus a camera. The camera is gaining in my favor.

Agreed but at 1280 pixels width it is hard to crop anything off and impossible to not have it in the shot due to focus limitations and placement restrictions
