Loading a batch for align/scale into PS help needed

Is there a way to load 16 images straight into PS so that I immediately have 16 layers?

I'm aware that I can easily load 16 images into PS and then 'individually' move each one onto the 1st but this is time consuming.

The purpose is that I want to align and scale each image in relation to its preceding one in a sequence and then crop all to the same size.

In Adobe Bridge, select the files you are planning to work with and select the Tools tab.

Go down to Photoshop menu item and select the "Load Files into Photoshop Layers". That will do what you want.



I don't know if Lightroom has similar functionality, so can't help if you go that route.

Thanks for that Manfred but I do not use Bridge at all.

I have just found an article that refers to scripts in PS and loading into a stack. I'll look at that.

I just checked out Photoshop.

Under the Files menu, select "Scripts" and use "Load Files into Stack". That will do the same thing as the Bridge instructions in #2.

Just tried it and all appears ok so far. I now have 1 PSD file with my 16 layers and I have managed to align/scale the first three.

I'm suspecting I will have to save each 'layer' separately when cropped, but not too bad with this number.

You can tell PS to align in the Scripts dialogue.

Thanks Peter but with every image being different with regard to the insects shape and attitude I'm not sure if an 'auto' method would choose the same base point as me.

But, once I have finished on the batch I'm doing manually I will give it a go out of curiosity.
