    PTLens trial will not save

I have seen PTLens recommended for perspective correction. It is half the price of DxO ViewPoint, so I downloaded the trial version. It will not work as a Plug-In for Affinity , but the standalone runs OK. However, I cannot see any way to save the corrected image. It shows the corrected image in a preview but there is no option to save this. It does say that you can only use the trial version on 10 images, but there is no suggestion that you cannot save them.

I have googled for an answer, and looked in the Help file, and searched the author's website, but there is no information available.

Has anyone any experience of this? The only 'helpful' suggestion I have seen is to buy the full version. At $25 this is not expensive, but I am reluctant to buy from a source which cannot get the trial right.

I can't remember how the trial version went, but I've had PTLens for a couple of years and would have no hesitation is saying it is well-worth the $25.

(In the interests of full disclosure, I should add that I bought it for processing images from my Samyang 14mm which I recently sold).

John - I don't know about this particular vendor, but I have definitely run across trial software that is fully functional EXCEPT that it does not let you save your work. I wonder if this is what you are seeing here?

I do own DxO Viewpoint and do not use it at all. The problem for me is that it is too automated and makes decisions that I do not like, in terms of what part of the image to crop to. Often, I misjudge the shot a touch and have the opportunity to rebuild a bit of sky or background using Photoshop's Content Aware tool set.

I do 100% of my perspective correction in Photoshop, using the Skew tool. It takes a bit longer than Viewpoint, but I get the result I want.

Thanks Bill and Manfred for your replies. I used to use DxO Viewpoint a lot, but since a Windows re-install some time ago, I was unable to do so. It worked well with both Photoshop and Affinity Photo. Affinity does have a Perspective control grid, which does work, but is fiddly to use. The trial version of PTLens does seem to do the job quickly and easily. The vendor website simply states that you can only process ten images. It flags this information on the UI, but it has remained at ten because of my inability to save.

I shall probably bite the bullet and buy the full version.

I have PTLens and it only works on jpegs. I haven't used it in years, and maybe a new version works on raw files.

I have actually purchased this, but I am still having problems. I did manage to contact the author who made some suggestions. I can now save the modified images, but it overwrites the original rather than adding a suffix as it should. So far his suggestions have not been all that useful.

This is a pity, because the program does seem to do what it is intended to do. It just will not save properly.

That does not sound particularly useful...

No, there is no Save option of any kind. Just an Exit option, or an OK button. I have not lost my image because i sill have my original raw file.

I finally gave up on this and bought DxO ViewPoint in their Black Friday sale. This does just what I want it to do, and saves my image as I want.
